The new UKAB website
On 29 June, we launched a new UK Airprox Board website.
Why we upgraded the UKAB website
The UKAB website is one of our most important digital services. It’s where people come to understand our role, submit new Airprox reports, access essential Airprox information and access all our previous reports already assessed by the Board.
We have upgraded the website to make it clearer, easier to use and better aligned with the needs of the people who use it.
A simpler, more modern design
The new design is cleaner, more modern and easier to read. It has been shaped by user testing and built in line with GOV.UK, creating a consistent experience with other public sector services.
This approach reduces visual clutter and helps users focus on what matters most. It also ensures the site feels familiar and trustworthy, particularly for people who regularly use government websites.
Easier to find what you need
Finding information on the previous site could be challenging and, over time, content had grown in ways that made navigation more complex than necessary.
The new site structure simplifies how information is organised and presented. Clearer menus, improved signposting and consistent page layouts help users reach the right content more quickly, whether they are members of the public, pilots, operators or industry professionals.
Better on mobile and more accessible
As many people now access the UKAB website on mobile devices, the redesigned site responds smoothly across phones, tablets and desktop computers, delivering a consistent experience on any screen.
Accessibility has been a priority. Enhancements include clearer typography, improved colour contrast, more consistent layouts and better support for assistive technologies.
A clearer, more user-friendly website supports transparency, builds trust and helps people engage more effectively with the UKAB and the work we do.
Delivered in-house and cost-effective
This work has been delivered in-house, using existing resources. This allowed us to make meaningful improvements in a cost-effective way, while directly addressing known user issues and improving accessibility.
